Choosing a source video that clips well
Why some hours of footage yield twenty clips and others yield three.
The engine is looking for complete spoken thoughts with a beginning and an end. What you feed it decides what it can find.
- Clips well: interviews, podcasts, solo commentary, reaction streams, sermons, lectures, Q&A.
- Clips less well: music-only footage, montages without speech, long silent gameplay, heavily edited videos where every idea is already cut short.
A video with no speech has no sentence to end on. Those clips still get cut, but the ending is chosen on other signals, and the result is less reliable than on a talky source.
Common questions
Does gameplay work?
Yes, especially with commentary. Silent gameplay gives the engine less to work with.
