A payment failed — what happens now

A declined card is not a cancellation. What we do, and what you need to do.

If a renewal charge fails, your card issuer declined it — most often for an expired card, a spending limit, or a bank fraud check on a recurring charge.

A declined payment is not a cancellation, and we treat it that way: an existing paying customer is not locked out the instant a charge bounces. You will get an email with a one-click link to pay the outstanding invoice.

  1. Open the payment link in the email.
  2. Pay the invoice, or update the card and pay.
  3. Access continues uninterrupted.
Some declines are your bank asking you to confirm the charge rather than refusing it. Approving it in your banking app is often all that is needed.

Common questions

Am I locked out straight away?

No.

Where is the payment link?

In the payment-failed email. It opens the invoice directly, no login required.
