Free AI Video Prompt Checker
Paste a prompt and get a 0–100 score with a concrete fix for every problem: open camera, mood words instead of action, no named light, too many beats for the length, and likeness or policy risks.
- Free, no account
- A fix for every issue
- Video or image prompts
The score is a prompt-quality heuristic (how much the model is left to guess), not a prediction of how the video turns out.
Your score
Example: a typical prompt scores 28/100
This is the checker's real result for “a cinematic epic shot of a girl dancing, beautiful, 4k, viral”, the kind of prompt most people start with:
28/100 · F
- medium
The person has no age, look or wardrobe — they will drift between takes.
Fix: Lock the cast: age, hair, wardrobe and one distinguishing detail, and say they stay identical for the whole take.
- medium
Mood words ("epic", "beautiful", "viral") do not tell the model what to show.
Fix: Swap each for a visible action: not "she looks nervous" but "she bites her lower lip and glances at the door twice".
- medium
No camera setup — framing and movement are left open.
Fix: Describe the camera physically: "phone held at arm's length, framed chest-up, natural handheld sway" or "locked off on a tripod, waist-up".
- medium
No light source — the model may add inconsistent or multiple lights.
Fix: Name one key source with colour temperature and direction: "soft window daylight from camera-left, about 5600K".
- medium
No location — the background is left to chance.
Fix: Name the place plus 2–3 concrete props: "a bright kitchen, white shaker cabinets, a bowl of lemons on the counter".
- medium
Only 11 words — the model will fill every open choice itself.
Fix: Use the ten blocks: scene, subject, location, camera, optics, action by seconds, physics, light, audio, style.
- low
"Girl"/"boy" leaves the age open — filters may read it as a minor and the model picks an age for you.
Fix: Name an adult age range: "a woman in her mid-twenties".
- low
No exclusions — models like to add captions, logos and watermarks.
Fix: End with: "No on-screen text, no captions, no logos, no watermarks."
- low
"4k" in the prompt does nothing — resolution is a setting you pick when you generate, not a prompt word.
Fix: Delete spec words; describe the look instead (lens, light, grain).
The same idea written by the free AI video prompt generator scores 100: it names the person's look, one camera move, one light, the action by the second and the exclusions.
Real people are flagged
“Taylor Swift dancing on a rooftop at sunset” scores 40/100. The top finding:
- high
The prompt asks for a celebrity, public figure, look-alike or deepfake. Generating a real person's likeness without consent can break platform rules and the law, and the video may be blocked or taken down.
Fix: Describe an original, fictional person by look (age, hair, wardrobe, one distinguishing detail) instead of naming or imitating someone real.
What the checker looks for
Over 40 checks, grouped by what goes wrong in the video when they are missed.
Open choices
- No subject, or a person with no fixed look (age, hair, wardrobe)
- No camera setup: framing and movement left to the model
- No location, or no named light source
- Too few words: the model fills every gap itself
Motion and camera
- Mood words ("epic", "cinematic") instead of a visible action
- Motion with no path, or hands that touch things without being described
- More than one camera move, contradictory moves, or zoom snaps
- Several shots crammed into one prompt
Timing
- More beats than the length can hold
- Timeline that runs past the duration, or leaves dead time
- Durations the model does not support
Light and style
- Two key lights or contradictory light
- Spec words ("4k", "8k", "ultra HD") that do nothing inside a prompt
- No exclusions, so captions, logos and watermarks creep in
- Too many "no" clauses
References
- Reference images with no role, undeclared references, or more than the model accepts
Risk
- A real or famous person's likeness, look-alikes and deepfakes
- Minors, explicit or suggestive content, violence
- Third-party brands, made-up testimonials and unverifiable claims
From a good score to a good video
A high score means the model has nothing important left to guess. See what strong prompts produce in the AI video examples (each with its exact prompt and cost), then make yours in the AI video generator or AI image generator.
Questions
Is the AI prompt checker free?
Yes. No account, no credits. It runs ClipSpeed's own rule-based checker on the server, without sending your prompt to an AI model.
How is the score calculated?
The prompt starts at 100 and each problem lowers it by its severity: high issues (likeness risks, prompts too long for the model) cost the most, low ones (missing exclusions, spec words like "4k") the least. It is a prompt-quality heuristic: it measures how much the model is left to guess, not how good or viral the video will be, and even a 100 cannot guarantee a model follows every instruction.
Does it work for Sora, Veo, Kling and Seedance prompts?
Yes. The checks are about what any text-to-video model needs: a fixed subject, one camera move, a named light, timing that fits the length, and no likeness or policy risks.
Why did my "cinematic, epic, 4k" prompt score low?
Mood words and resolution tags do not tell the model what to show. Name the camera move, the light source and the action instead; the checker lists the exact fix for each.
Does it flag celebrities and real people?
Yes. Naming a famous person, asking for a look-alike or a deepfake is a high-severity finding, because generating a real person's likeness without consent can break platform rules and the law.
Is my prompt saved?
No. It is checked and returned, not stored or tied to an account.
